
Current Faculty of Divinity Doctor of Ministry student is the parish priest of in the Diocese of Toronto.
Since arriving in Canada from Ecuador as a political refugee, he has engaged with the Latin American immigrant community in the region. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his church has continued to work to support its community through daily, weekly biblical reflections and Sunday liturgies – broadcast on the radio and internet. Hernan has also been busy providing pastoral assistance at funerals for Latino families who are victims of COVID-19, particularly from the construction industry. His reach an audience as far away as New York and New Jersey, since the Latino communities in those states has been particularly devastated.
