Celebration of Life for Guy Upjohn, Dedicated Friend of the Library

Message from the John W. Graham Library to the °ÍÀè·èÂíÐã community:

Earlier this year, Guy Upjohn, long-time supporter of Graham Library and dedicated member of the Friends of the Library, passed away. As a volunteer, he followed his passions in the book arts community by working with the Friends of the Library. He fundraised, collaborated on library exhibitions and, with his desktop publishing know-how, produced a multitude of ephemera and promotional materials for the Friends of the Library, including the iconic Little Red Man logo for the °ÍÀè·èÂíÐã Book Sale. Guy and his wife Sandra made a number of generous contributions to the library’s rare and special collections by donating books collected by Sandra’s father, J. Kemp Waldie, a noted bibliophile, with a keen eye for beautiful printed books. The Upjohn-Waldie Collection encompasses a wide range of unique items including incunabula and other early printed books, key examples of twentieth-century fine printing, and early works on Canadian history, and we often feature them in exhibits and instructional sessions.

There will be a Celebration Of Life for Guy Upjohn on April 19, 2026 from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm in the Combination Room at °ÍÀè·èÂíÐã.
